NEW RABEN TEAM CABO PULMO
In October, we integrated a new RABEN team in Cabo Pulmo.
Twenty-two volunteers received both theoretical and practical training to carry out the appropriate and safe maneuvers for freeing entangled whales.
Training related to whale disentanglement is extremely important, as rescuing whales is a high-risk activity.
We also carry-out capacity building of RABEN teams in Puerto Ángel, Mazunte, Huatulco, Bahía de Banderas, and Los Cabos.

BRYDE WHALE IN LOS CABOS
On October 19, Los Cabos RABEN team rescued a Bryde´s whale, locally known as Sardine whale, that was entangled in rope, chains and buoys.
This was a very special rescue, since Bryde´s whales are one of the least-known cetaceans, due to their highly elusive behavior.
FIRST RESCUE BY CABO PULMO TEAM
On November 1st, this new RABEN team successfully rescued its first humpback whale.
The whale was a juvenile with more than 20 meters of rope entangled around its tail .
WHALE SUCCESSFULLY DISENTANGLED IN MAZATLÁN
On November 16th, Mazatlan RABEN team rescued a humpback whale that was completely entangled in a gillnet.
RESCUE IN BAHÍA DE BANDERAS
After two days of searching, the RABEN team in Bahía de Banderas succeeded in freeing a humpback whale that had dragging lines and buoys all the way from

We were about to send this newsletter when we received the news that the whale reported to us on December 1st outside Magdalena Bay had arrived in Puerto Vallarta.
We were waiting for its arrival!
It was a complex case, but we successfully freed this whale yesterday, December 16th 🐋🙌.
